Q:  How do I care for my new tattoo:

A:
  • Only remove your bandage when you are ready to wash your tattoo.
  • Take your bandage off and run your tattoo under some luke warm water for about 30-45 seconds while scrubbing tattooed area with a mild anti-bacterial soap using your finger tips, no wash cloth for 2 weeks.
  • work up a thick lather and rinse with more luke warm water, pat dry with a paper towel, no regular towels for 2 weeks.
  • repeat this process 3-5 times a day for the first 2 weeks.
  • apply a thin coat of ointment once maybe twice a day for first 2 weeks of healing process. (recommended ointments: lubriderm, curel, bacitracin, cocoa butter, or aquaphor. Do not use neosporin or vaseline petroleum jelly.)
  • Keep your tattoo out of direct sunight and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks. Do not soak your tattoo in water. It's ok to bathe just don't submerge the tattoo under water for 2 weeks.
  • Your new tattoo is going to itch (that means it's healing), do not scratch, pick at, or otherwise touch your tattoo in an aggressive manner as this may cause a loss of color, scarring, infection, and or all of the above.
  • Q:  How long will my colors stay bright and vivid?
A:  Until the next time you get a tan or sun burn on the tattooed area. The sun is your tattoos worst enemy, the more you tan the more dull and dingy your tattoo will look. The lighter the colors the sooner you will notice the fading and this is due to the fact that your skin tone becomes darker than the actual pigment therefore over powering it and making it look dull.

Q:  Why can't I get alot of detail in a small tattoo?
A:  Tattoos go down about 3 layers of skin and over time we exfoliate and shed our skin gradually. This process of exfoliation brings the tattooed layers of skin closer to the surface and causes lines to blur and expand. Therefore any lines or detail that started out close together will eventually blur and become hard to read.

Q:  How long should I wait to add on to my tattoo or get a touch-up?
A:  Average healing time is 2 weeks, I reccomend waiting at least 3 weeks to make sure all layers of skin are completely healed before going back into the same area to ensure that we do not traumatize the skin and cause any scarring. A general rule of thumb is if the area looks milky or you can feel it when you run your fingers over it, then it is still not ready to be hit again.

Q:  How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?
    A:  18
